Russian agency: Local authorities may get up to 23.9% in Bashneft
MOSCOW, Jan 27 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is discussing transferring up to a 23.9% stake in nationalized oil company Bashneft to the Bashkortostan Republic, head of the Federal State Property Management Agency Olga Dergunova told reporters on Tuesday.
The agency will prepare a shareholder agreement with the local authorities that will foresee joint management and disposal of assets, Dergunova said.
“At the moment the state sets no aim of leaving this asset (Bashneft),” she said.
The federal agency must retain a 50% stake plus one share in Bashneft, and the remaining part of its stake can be transferred to the local authorities, Dergunova said.
The possibility that the region will only get Bashneft’s preference shares can not be ruled out, she said.
At the moment the service holds 73.94% in the company, a 6.11% stake belongs to companies and 4.6% to households.
